Avery graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, Avery moved to Dallas and spent several years working in Commercial Real Estate before she decided to pursue her passion for counseling. She received her Masters in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Through her experience in private practice, Avery has enjoyed working closely with individuals with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, boundary issues, grief and loss, burnout, faith questioning, and trauma.
Avery desires to create a warm, non-judgmental and compassionate environment where she can listen to and collaborate with her clients to help them meet their therapeutic goals. Avery believes that the most important element of counseling is the relationship between a client and a therapist, and considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients on their unique journeys. While Avery is a Christian counselor, she enjoys working with people from differing belief systems and backgrounds.
When she’s not at Magnolia, Avery enjoys a good book, cooking new recipes, spending time outside, or spending time with her husband and their pets.
